地點:賀蘭山校區科技樓C219

演講人:Prof. Charley Wu (鄔傳宇)

Department of Chemical andProcess Engineering, University of Surrey, Guildford, GU2 7XH.

E-mail:C.Y.Wu@surrey.ac.uk

Process engineeringconcerns the conversion of raw materials into value-added products throughtranslating customers』 needs into production systems in a wide range ofindustries, such as chemical, petrochemical, food, advanced material andpharmaceutical industries. Process engineering hence involves the design, optimization and intensification of chemical and biological processes, which aretypically multiscale problems. In this talk, a brief overview of the wide rangeof research activities related to chemical and process engineering at theUniversity of Surrey will be presented, which include energy and materials, digital & process innovation, water processing technology, health &food, formulations and products. In addition, how a multiscale approach can betaken to tackle challenging problems associated with process engineering willbe illustrated. Furthermore, various options for potential researchcollaboration and partnership in undergraduate and postgraduate education willbe discussed.
